Okay, we'll admit it . . .

We're completely and utterly obsessed with the New Flint Farmers' Market! Is there a 12 step program? Because, we need it!

After the grand opening last weekend, we thought the feeling would have subsided, but nope!

And if you haven't gotten a chance to check it out, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!?

While some people may not be swayed by great service, amazing people, AMAZING fruits and vegetabes, awesome meats, tasty dairy and sweet treats, all in a beautiful building, we are! Sway us, sway us, please!

We know there are a few kinks that need to be worked out, like you may have to look a little harder for a parking spot; and by the way WHO ever just got a parking spot at the old location? Because you my friend are a parking ninja! The Market is no longer the best kept secret of a few cool kids in town, who brag about their fresh fruit, that delicious sandwich from Steady Eddy's, or the good cheese from Hills Home Cured Cheese; but it's now a well known secret, for the whole city to discover! And frankly, who can argue with that, when for so long our City was struggling with it's downtown. But with places like The Loft, The Lunch Studio, 501 Bar and Grill, Rasberries Rhythm Cafe, and Churchill's Food and Spirits; our Downtown is coming around with new and old places to discover! Maybe we've wallowed in the negativity, destruction of our neighborhoods, dismantling of our government, downsizing of our schools, and shifts in top employers for so long that we can't even see a glimmer of hope, when it's right in our face.

But this is one of the times, and hopefully, the beginning of many where we can be HAPPY about Flint! Embrace it, people! Embrace it!

Hello Kitty Con 2014 is Coming!

Growing up in the late 70's and 80’s meant that anything with Hello Kitty on it was the most coveted of accessories. From the coin purses to pens, you had to have it; in all its red bowed glory!

In honor of her 40th Anniversary, Sanrio the parent company is doing it BIG, with the first ever Hello Kitty Convention, scheduled for October 30th - November 2nd in Los Angeles, CA.

The Convention will feature a retrospective with the very first Hello Kitty coin purse from 1974 on display, speakers, workshops, panels and discussions, a Hello Kitty supermarket, Hello Kitty food, a meet and greet, and even a tattoo shop! Hello Kitty isn’t just for kids anymore!

In addition to the Convention, there will also be a first of its kind exhibition at The Japanese American National Museum (JANM) in Los Angeles, titled “Hello! Exploring the Supercute World of Hello Kitty”. The exhibition opens October 11tg and will be on view through April 26, 2015. There will also be special collaborations and products from Sephora, Major League Baseball (MLB), the National Football League (NFL), Mikimoto, Vans, New Era, and many more. Hello Kitty will also continue to travel across the globe, spreading the message of friendship with the “Share a Hug with Hello Kitty! Campaign”.

If you’re a fan of Hello Kitty or just want to check out what is sure to be a fun, if not interesting and colorful weekend, you’ll definitely want to go to this Convention.

Tickets are $30 for adults, $20 for kids age 6 – 12 years, and kids age 5 and under are free.
