Silk Sonic is Here!

I have quite an affinity for the ’70s. The music, the clothes . . . it’s my decade. And, I have a feeling that Silk Sonic made up of Bruno Mars and Anderson.Paak may have a love for it too, based on their new song “Leave the Door Open”, released this week.

The single gives us all the ‘70s vibes we need to navigate through what has now been a full year of the panny. With vibes unmatched the song is produced by Dernst “D’Mile” Emile II and Bruno Mars and written by Bruno, Anderson, D’Mile, and Brody Brown. The song includes an abundance of live instruments, which is ALWAYS a plus, and includes Anderson on drums and Bruno on guitar and congas. The song is fun and light-hearted as they serenade and entice a lady friend to come through. I’m pretty sure that this song and the subsequent album are going to be responsible for the next round of panoramic (the pandemic if you didn’t know) babies.

Bootsy Collins who also christened the duo Silk Sonic will be our host for the album, AN EVENING WITH SILK SONIC, and will be released later this year. Anything with Bootsy’s blessing is definitely guaranteed to be a fun trip. Along with “Leave the Door Open” Anderson and Bruno also released “Silk Sonic Intro” featuring Bootsy.

“Leave the Door Open” and the “Silk Sonic Intro” are available on all platforms. Check out the video below!

Fashion Mavens at Mo Pop 2017!

Festivals ALWAYS bring out the fashion mavens! You can see a variety of looks, from the extreme to casual and utilitarian, because you could rack up miles and miles of walking.  Check out some of my favorite looks, ranging from summer chic to political!

Although Spicer's time was limited, he still was able to garner his very own t-shirt. You can't go wrong in fashion when making a somewhat political statement, and with the casual hat and short; this look says I want to party and keep up with what's…

This math teacher knows what's up! His casual look is one that again, makes a somewhat political statement, but also just looks great! T-shirts can make or break many outfits and this one centers the outfit. (Marissa Pierce/Phashion Phish)

The cool bag also adds a different texture and look to the ensemble, elevating it beyond normal festival wear. (Marissa Pierce/Phashion Phish)
