He's Kinda Dope
We were just touting the AWESOMENESS that is Jidenna; and now we’ve come across even more talent in Ellis Martin with his Jidenna produced single, “You’re Kinda Crazy”.
The Chicago native is giving us the music and with this song in particular, more of what we’ve been yearning for as music fans. We can only take so much ratchet rap; which has its place, but we need a break. It’s nice to listen to music and simply chill in a particular space and moment; and Ellis Martin does that for us.
This song sounds like summer! It also has a retro beat, giving us a very special 50's, with a touch of 80’s vibe. And as a child of the 80’s we LOVE it! After the first listen it was giving us Prince; and you can never go wrong with an artist that reminds you of Prince. We can identify with lyrics like, ". . . just get the fuck away from me", because we've all been there. The song is for sure to be the soundtrack to many memories and just the song to get you through a spring break-up; because cuffin' season is over and it's time to get back out there! On a more springy day in Michigan, we even opted to roll the windows down and blast it! The production calls for it to be played at ignorant levels in the car and at upcoming BBQ's, house parties, and random chill sessions.
